About Bingara

Bingara Wiltipoll Sheep Stud is owned and operated by Phil & Maria van Wegen. It is located in picturesque, red gum country, just minutes from Hamilton, Victoria at Yulecart along the Grangeburn Creek.

We discovered Wiltipoll Sheep after searching for a low maintenance source of income for our property. We then purchased our first flock of Class A1 stud ewes and a stud ram. We have since purchased more Class A1 ewes and rams from several different bloodlines and have since increased our flock considerably. 

At Bingara Wiltipoll Sheep Stud are aim is to produce high quality, stud ewes and rams: 

·           Completely shedding

·          Excellent structural soundness  

·          Well muscled

·            Polled 

·          Early maturing 

·          Large frames  

·          Long bodies  

·     Great  temperaments 

·          Black points (black feet & noses) 

·          Minimal black ticking 

Record keeping is also of the upmost importance to us, so we keep as much breeding history of the ewes and lambs as possible. All lambs are ear tagged within hours of their birth so their exact dam and sire is known and on most occassions are also weighed. All lambs have been vaccinated at marking with Glenvac 6 in 1 with Selenium and B12 and again at weaning. Lambs born on our property from 2008 are also vaccinated for O.J.D (Ovine Johnes Disease) before they are 16 weeks. Bingara Wiltipoll Sheep Stud is OB (Ovine Brucellossis) accredited.
