Ewes maternal qualities:

-
Multiple births (often having twins and even triplets)
- Have an
abundance of milk. Easily supporting twins and therefore also great for sheep
dairies.
- Have great maternal qualities and usually lamb unassisted.
- They
rarely mismother and are extremely protective of their lambs.
- Ewes are
seasonal breeders, coming into season in autumn and lambing in late winter to spring, hence ram
can be left in with ewes all year round. (Rams can be used all year round and
excellent terminal sires)
Prime Lamb

- They gain weight without laying down fat.
- High dressing percentages can be achieved, often yielding over 50%
